Niepoort is an independent family business since 1842. At this time, we are enthusiastically looking forward to the future sixth generation.
Niepoort’s mission is to maintain its position of “niche player”, continuing to produce distinctive ports and Douro wines, combining centuries-old tradition with innovation. This combination has come to include throughout our growth wines from two other regions that have contributed to marking out the Douro – Bairrada – Dão triangle.
Niepoort – Ruby
VARIETY. Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Roriz.
COLOR. Dark red.
AROMA. Fresh vibrant aroma of dark fruits.
PALATE. Mineral character, a youthful wine with good extract and great balance.
Niepoort – Tawny
VARIETY. Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Roriz.
COLOR. Brick red/tawny in colour.
AROMA. Delicate nutty aromas and a hint of dried fruits.
PALATE. On the palate, very well balanced with a youthful fruity, luscious character, which integrates well with a long spirity finish.
Niepoort – The Junior Ruby
VARIETY. Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Roriz.
COLOR. Dark red.
AROMA. It is a full-bodied wine with a fine aroma of intense dark plums and blackberries with a hint of chocolate.
PALATE. On the palate exhibits good freshness with well integrated dark fruits.
Niepoort – The Senior Tawny
VARIETY. Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Roriz.
COLOR. Brick red tawny appearance.
AROMA. Delicate aroma with cooked fruit, pomegranates, raisins.
PALATE. Velvety mouth feel with a fine blend of old wines giving richness balanced with younger wines giving freshness and complexity.
Niepoort – Late Bottled Vintage 2018
VARIETY. Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Roriz.
COLOR. Violet glints appear in this wine’s intense ruby red hue.
AROMA. The nose reveals aromas of fruits of the forest, spices and figs.
PALATE. On the palate, you will find Niepoort’s quintessential structure and elegance. It sets off on sweet notes but finishes dry, with a surprisingly assertive acidity.
Niepoort – 10 Years Old Tawny
VARIETY. Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Roriz.
COLOR. Tawny in colour.
AROMA. Aromas of dried apricots and crystallized tangerine peel well integrated with a nutty character.
PALATE. The palate reveals dried fruits with a fiery spirity finish. With a great structure and a long finish. This offers amazing aromas of orange and lemon peel, with hints of toffee, caramel and honey. Full bodied and luscious, with lots of sweet fruit and a long subtle finish that goes on and on.
