Grand Marnier
Grand Marnier liqueur has been the iconic spirit of vibrant French lifestyle around the world since its creation in 1880 by Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle. It is made from the unique combination of the finest French cognacs and essence of exotic Caribbean oranges. The recipe, which has not changed since it was first created, results in a liqueur with powerful aromas and flavours. The Grand Marnier bottle, whose roundness evokes the silhouette of the copper Cognac still, has not changed for over a century making it timeless.
Grand Marnier is an exceptional blend of fine cognac and exotic bitter orange liqueur, created by Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle. Over six generations of art and craft are carefully guarded by the expertise of our Master Blender.
Oranges form an essential component of Grand Marnier’s unique flavor and lend an intriguing twist to the palate. In the 19th century, when Louis-Alexandre created our blend, oranges were an exotic luxury consumed mostly on special occasions. The aromatic Citrus Bigaradia is the only variety of orange used to make Grand Marnier.
The dried peels are sent to the distillery at our Château de Bourg-Charente. Here, the quality of the peels is checked before they are macerated in neutral alcohol. The flavor from each peel is concentrated through slow distillation, of which only the purest essence is kept.
Grand Marnier have been acquired by Gruppo Campari since 1st July 2016.
